Damien and Kristen’s wedding proved that fairy tales do come true if you marry your best friend on one the world’s most beautiful islands.
Lord Howe Island, a world heritage listed island, is a true destination island weddings location. A paradise that really has to be seen to be believed. It’s like stepping into a postcard. The turquoise waters and sub-tropical landscape make it a photographer’s dream and the perfect location for couples to experience a more relaxed and unique wedding.
Kristen and Damien chose a unique spot to experience their ‘First Look’, a secluded old cemetery nestled within the rainforest, which allowed them to privately connect and soak up the quiet surroundings and pose for a few intimate pictures before the ceremony at Lovers Lookout.
I took some great fun photos at this wedding. From Kristen arriving at the ceremony with her maid of honour on a pair wicker chairs strapped to the back of a ute, to a bit of bridal party fun on the 8th Hole of the Lord Howe Island Golf Club before the reception.
We are almost speechless with awe. Such. Great. Pics!! Having Samantha there for the wedding made the whole experience much richer - not just for the photos, but for her joyous presence that everyone all noticed. Samantha quickly became part of the wedding party and we're so glad for that. Our memories of the day are already golden.

Before working with Samantha I was hesitant due to the cost and not having worked with Samantha before. We had such a wonderful week with family and friends on Lord Howe and we thank Samantha so much for capturing what it felt like on the day to marry my best friend! The photos are excellent, they were far better than we could have dreamed, some are truly breathtaking and we received many more than we expected.

The best features of working with Samantha are that firstly she took excellent photos of us. Secondly we received way more photos than we were expecting and finally it was quite a stress free experience, when weddings can be very stressful.

I think The First Look was a key element of our day and I am very grateful that Samantha recommended this to us as I had never heard of it before. It is a moment I will treasure as I got time, with Damien, alone, before the ceremony and reception, which I would not have had otherwise. It really is such a fantastic idea and I love the photos from that section of the day. Some of my favourite photos that you took, are from those moments.
