How would you like your Sydney Engagement Photos to take place on a stunning Sydney beach? Sydney has some amazing beaches, but due to their east facing direction, the classic sunset photos on the beach are impossible. It does, however open the opportunity for those that are crazy enough to get up while it is dark to get some incredible sunrise photos. The major advantage of sunrise photos at the beach is the privacy that it provides. Tamarama Beach is one of my favourite Sydney beaches for a sunrise shoot as it has an amazing rock platform to give a wide variety of photos for our couples. Jess and Michael were incredibly lucky to also get a spectacular sunrise with plenty of clouds to give detail in the sky. If you are daring enough to get up really early, a sunrise shoot on a Sydney beach will reward you with some epic engagement photos.

Despite their photogenic appearance, they like most couples were nervous and worried about appearing awkward in front of the camera. With a little direction, we started out our shoot in the complete dark to get an image with the stars in the sky. We then had plenty of time to settle Jess and Michael’s nerves prior to the sun rising. Shortly after sunrise, they both quickly changed so we could get into the water for some magic engagement photos. This is when they both relaxed in front of the camera, mainly because the current of the water was so strong that they were unable to concentrate on the camera but rather held onto each. We almost all ended up under the water, but the reward was the amazing natural expressions and fun they were having throughout this period of the shoot.

Finally there was time for a shower a another clothing change to get some more casual photos of them on the beach and then higher up on the rock platform. We wrapped up the shoot with a classic egg and bacon roll at the trendy cafe down by the beach. It was the perfect way to start a Sydney summer day.
